Hi Ma,

Fred and I are just fine, also Jr. and Gil and the rest, that is what is left of the gang. I am leaving in a week or so but I am going to stay here in Fort Jackson for at least six months.

Glad to hear that Al is ok, we were beginning to think he was lost or something. I am trying to write this letter and eat peanuts at the same time. Also, Foley just came in and he is feeling no pain. In fact he wants to burn the hut down.

We went over to see Capt. Davoren the other day and I think he is going to be Major pretty soon.

I was going to sell the bike but it is so hard to get gas. Fred and I figured we could use it down here, so I wrote and told my father to crate it and ship it down here if he could find time.

Charlie
