Dear Mom, Pop, Shirley, Avis, Marie,
We've been going to school so much lately that i think we'll all be eligible for college professors. Tomorrow will be our last night that we'll have to attend the night classes. It's all confidential material so I can't let you in on it. At least that's what they tell us.
We still don't know what type of planes we're going to fly. The rumor has it that it will be P-47s but we don't know where.
We had to buy another $57 worth of clothing. It was required stuff. One of the articles was a pair of canvas leggings. Charlie said thank God when he got into the air corps because he wouldn't have to wear the damn things. Here's hoping we don't have to wear then at least until we get to combat.
Charlie wrote and told me the he had to go back for a recheck on his knee.
The town, as far as the main street is concerned, isn't much bigger than Milford.
It's noted for only one thing. It has the highest rate of VD in the state and the second highest in the country. Let me tell you Mom, we've had more lectures on that one thing than you can imagine.
I've met only one girl. She runs around in a 1942 convertible Buick. She came out to see me last night after classes. She said she wanted to see me before she left for Miami. Too bad!! Maybe she had money.
How's the head mom? Please take care of yourself, because after I clean up the European and South Pacific situation we must go out and celebrate.
Love and Kisses,
Al
