Dear Mom,
Flying was called off today because of a low overcast. We still had to hang around on the line. We'll all take a fifty caliber machine gun apart and put it back together. The record was 32 seconds and I did it in 25 seconds!
I went to low altitude cross country the other day. It was one of those where you would be flying along the ground and you would have to pull up to miss the trees. You really can realize the speed you are traveling when you get down to five feet off the ground.
I've got about 20 hours in now. I'm supposed to start my gunnery mission tomorrow.
Love to all Love and Kisses As Ever
Al
