Dear Bill and Emily,
Thank you for the letters. It sure does a guy a lot of good to head from home.
Don't get the idea that I'm not happy here at all because I am, but it takes too damn long to get what you want.
Emily, you had better be jotting down all those jokes of yours. I'll want to hear all of them when I get back.
Don't tell Mom because she might worry but I've got season's tickets to the biggest show in the world. To tell the truth I wouldn't give up that seat in the balcony for anything or any price. It sort of gives a guy a thrill to see the news being made rather than reading it.
These English girls are so much different from our own. It could be the was I imagine.
The invasion??? Not allowed to talk about it.
Charlie will probably be the hottest pilot in the U.S. when I get back. Boy oh boy would he enjoy riding in this old ship.
This was in the papers so I can tell you about it. Just in case you missed it. One of our boys had to land in enemy territory, so another one of our guys went down and picked him up. One of the guys sat on the other guys lap because these P-47's only seat one guy. Just like the movies.
As ever,
Al
