Dear Mom and Family,

I just spent five days in London, buzz bombs or no buzz bombs, they sure make a lot of noise but it's a hell of a lot better than dodging flak. The air raid warning scares me more than the bombs.

I now have five ribbons on my chest and bucking for the sixth. On the metal, I now have six oak leaf clusters and three stars on the E.T.O. ribbon. Oh yes, we also got a presidential citation./ That makes my sixth ribbon but that one is worn on the right side. It's a lone blue ribbon.

Enough of my bragging but at least you know that I'm helping the war effort.

As Ever

Al
